Preferred Partner Status
South Korea’s LG Electronics said it has joined the Nvidia Partner Network as a preferred partner for power and cooling, expanding its access to customers building large artificial intelligence data centers.
The global Nvidia program connects customers with companies and technologies used to develop AI data centers and so-called AI factories, facilities designed to handle computing-intensive AI workloads. The designation means customers planning Nvidia-based facilities can consider LG’s chillers and coolant distribution units earlier in the design process. Partners also receive technical cooperation and sales and marketing support within Nvidia’s ecosystem.
Cooling High-Powered AI Chips
LG said it is the first South Korean company whose 600-kilowatt and 1-megawatt coolant distribution units meet Nvidia’s approval requirements. Its 2.5-megawatt system has received approval under Nvidia’s AI factory specifications and has been recognized as a “DSX Ready CDU.”
The company entered the data center cooling business in 2011 and has supplied both air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. More recently, it has developed liquid-cooling technology that directly cools heat-intensive AI chips. Its product lineup combines cold plates, coolant distribution units and chillers.
North America in Focus
LG has identified North America as a key market, saying the region accounts for more than 60% of demand for new data center capacity. The company aims to expand its customer base among major cloud computing companies and data center leasing operators.
Lee Jae-sung, president of LG Electronics’ ES Business Division, called the Nvidia listing a meaningful achievement that demonstrates LG’s thermal management technology is suited for next-generation AI data center infrastructure in the global market.
