Eric Nam is turning private reflections on love, breakups and loneliness into music on his fourth full-length album, “Confessions of a Lonely Heart.”

Released on online music platforms on the 16th, the nine-track record is Nam’s first studio album in about three years. Its lead single, “Psycho,” captures the moment when intense attraction begins to turn into obsession.

Songs That Feel Like Diary Entries

Nam said the album brings together fragments of his life since his previous record, “House on a Hill.” Because he had kept the songs to himself for so long, sharing them now feels like letting listeners read his diary, he said through his agency, All My Any Dots, on the 23rd.

The material draws from his experiences touring and working on film and television projects in different countries and creative settings. Romantic relationships, friendships and professional connections also shaped the album. Some songs began with memories, while others grew from observing people around him or imagining experiences he hopes to have in the future.

While “House on a Hill” explored questions about happiness and success, Nam described the new album as more detailed and personal. Musically, he experimented with a range of sounds, including the 1980s-inspired styles and country music he enjoys.

Looking Ahead to a 2027 World Tour

Nam said he hopes the songs can keep listeners company on lonely nights, help them through the pain of a breakup or offer hope that they can fall in love again.

He also plans to release more performance and video content and meet fans through promotional activities for the album. Nam said he is eager to perform the new songs on a world tour planned for 2027 and hopes to create more opportunities to appear onstage in South Korea.
