Online mortgage rates to fall

South Korea’s NH NongHyup Bank will lower both ends of the interest-rate range for its online variable-rate home loans by 0.1 percentage point beginning Oct. 12, 2026, according to information disclosed by the financial industry on Oct. 7.

The bank said the adjustment is intended to ease borrowing costs for people who need loans as interest rates rise.

Earlier cuts for other borrowers

The online lending change follows rate reductions for mortgages issued through bank branches that took effect Sept. 16. For those loans, the upper end of the rate range fell by about 0.45 percentage point, while the lower end declined by roughly 0.20 percentage point.

NH NongHyup Bank also lowered the upper end of its interest-rate range for personal credit loans by about 0.20 percentage point.
