A festival performance moves indoors

TOMORROW X TOGETHER turned a weather-related cancellation into an improvised performance in a New York practice studio on the 26th, streaming the show live for fans on Weverse.

The five-member K-pop group, also known as TXT, had been scheduled to open the 2026 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park. TXT was the event’s only Korean act, and member Yeonjun was also set to perform a solo stage.

After severe local weather forced the festival’s cancellation, the group’s label, BigHit Music, said TXT quickly rented an indoor rehearsal space. The dancers who had prepared for the Central Park appearance joined the hastily renamed “New York Practice Room Festival,” allowing the group to present its planned choreography despite the venue change.

“We worked hard to prepare, and we would have been disappointed not to show it,” the members said. “Only the space changed. We had everything properly set up.” They added that they could perform anywhere as long as they had music and microphones.

K-pop meets Korean tradition

TXT’s five-song group set included “Blue Hour,” whose Korean title translates to “You and I Found in the Sky at 5:53,” and “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori.” The group also covered Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat.”

For “Sugar Rush Ride,” the members performed a version incorporating gugak, a broad term for traditional Korean music, and wore costumes inspired by hanbok, Korea’s traditional clothing.

Yeonjun also delivered his planned solo performance, singing “Talk to You” and “Ice Cream” and covering Post Malone’s “Sunflower.”

More U.S. dates ahead

The stream ended with a comeback teaser featuring a rotating image and the message, “We need something different from what we’ve had until now.”

TXT is scheduled to launch its new “STEAL THE WIND” world tour with three concerts at Seoul’s KSPO Dome from Nov. 13-15, followed by dates across Asia, Japan, North America and Europe.

The group is also set to return to the United States for the 2026 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, with appearances scheduled in New York on Dec. 11, Boston on Dec. 13 and Washington on Dec. 14. Both TXT and Yeonjun as a solo artist are listed in the lineup.
