K-pop girl group RESCENE has been named to the first lineup for the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon, adding a major year-end television appearance to the group’s schedule as it prepares to release its fourth EP, “PULSE.”
SBS announced the initial roster of 22 acts on Oct. 23. The music festival will take place Dec. 24 and 25 at KINTEX, a convention center in Goyang, northwest of Seoul. The annual event is expanding to two days for the first time as it marks its 30th anniversary.
RESCENE will appear alongside acts including Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, TREASURE, ENHYPEN and IVE. MEOVV, KickFlip, Hearts2Hearts and ALLDAY PROJECT are also among the performers announced in the first round.
Producers said the event would feature artists who have established a distinctive presence on K-pop stages in South Korea and abroad, promising fans a major Christmas celebration. SBS also said additional performers representing multiple generations would be announced later.
RESCENE Builds Toward ‘PULSE’
The festival announcement arrived one day after RESCENE released a concept trailer for “PULSE” through its official social media accounts. The video presents the members in white outfits with feathered wings, evoking a guardian-like theme, and ends with the sound of a heartbeat that connects to the album’s title.
“PULSE” is scheduled for release on streaming platforms at 6 p.m. Korea time on Nov. 3. Videos sharing the album link and release time recorded about 1,600 and 3,500 views, respectively, within their first 20 hours.
Other recent RESCENE clips have drawn significantly larger audiences. An Oct. 16 video featuring Minami’s dancing surpassed 2.86 million views, while behind-the-scenes footage from an advertising shoot posted the same day reached more than 2.66 million. Additional videos featuring Woni, May and edited group moments each exceeded 2.3 million views.
A Five-Member Group
RESCENE, managed by The Muze Entertainment, consists of Woni, Liv, Minami, May and Zena. Woni, Liv and May are Korean, while Minami is Japanese.
The group debuted March 26, 2024, with the single album “Re:Scene.” The prerelease track was “Yoyo,” followed by the lead single “UhUh.”
