Rookie K-pop boy band YOURS will release its first EP, “B,” at 6 p.m. Korean time on the 21st, marking the group’s first comeback since its debut five months ago.
The five-track record includes the lead single “B.B.B,” along with “Here We Go” and “Moonlight.” The group described “B.B.B” as a statement of intent — a song meant to introduce the YOURS name with greater confidence and stronger teamwork.
Leader Hyo called the single the group’s “declaration,” while Yeontae highlighted its forceful chorus and direct lyrics. Bohyun said the song preserves the group’s bright, youthful sound while presenting a more mature image.
Aiming for a Small-Agency Breakthrough
YOURS cited girl group RESCENE as an inspiration, describing the act as a rare success story from a smaller entertainment company in an industry dominated by major agencies. Bohyun said YOURS hopes to follow that example and become its own breakout act.
The members said RESCENE’s rise taught them that opportunities come to artists who are prepared. They acknowledged that success may take time but said they intend to keep working toward their goals.
Five Months After Debut
YOURS debuted in May with the single “Orange Record.” The group’s name is derived from “Your Hertz,” reflecting the idea that scattered waves can come together as music connecting the performers and their listeners.
The members formed the group in August last year after appearing on the SBS audition program “B:MY BOYZ.” Jaeil said the members became more candid about giving one another constructive advice while preparing the new album, strengthening their teamwork. Bohyun said they practiced about twice as much as they had before their debut.
Sechan recalled rehearsing from 10 a.m. until 7 a.m. the following day while preparing for the audition show’s finale. Though exhausting, he said completing the schedule gave him confidence that he could overcome difficult challenges. Junseong said he felt proud after seeing a fan cry tears of joy at the group’s 100-day performance, interpreting the moment as proof that they had connected through music.
Charting Bigger Goals
The members named BTS, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN and PENTAGON among their role models. Bohyun also mentioned I.O.I, a project group created through an audition program, saying YOURS hopes to remain an act that audiences applaud for years.
The group’s ambitions include expanding its catalog enough to hold a solo concert and earning its first win on a televised Korean music competition. Sechan said he hopes the members can celebrate such a victory with fans during the traditional encore performance.
Japanese members Hyo and Kai said they want to repay their families for their encouragement and support. The group also expressed interest in appearing on Korean variety and online entertainment programs to show its chemistry beyond the stage.
