South Korean business groups and local governments will offer a series of training programs and seminars in October 2026 covering quantum technology, export compliance, startup marketing and AI-powered manufacturing.

Quantum Technology and Startups

Daejeon will host the 107th Daejeon Startup Forum on Oct. 13 in conjunction with the eighth Technology Convergence Forum. Organized by the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, the event will examine support for quantum startups, satellite-based quantum communications, energy diagnostics and sensing technologies, and plans for a quantum industry cluster. The program includes a keynote address, expert sessions, a public discussion and networking.

In Paju, Gyeonggi province, prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage companies can attend a youth startup program on digital promotion and marketing from Oct. 13-15. The practical training is intended to help participants build online marketing skills and develop strategies for launching businesses online.

Trade and Export Compliance

The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s FTA Trade Promotion Center will hold a one-day course Oct. 21 on determining the origin of goods under free trade agreements. Conducted with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Incheon city government, the program is aimed at helping small and midsize companies improve compliance and manage documentation used to qualify products for preferential tariff treatment.

Other trade-related events include an FTA and trade consultation session in South Chungcheong province on Oct. 7; a briefing in Busan on overseas technical regulations and certification systems on Oct. 22; and a KIMES Busan-linked seminar on U.S. Food and Drug Administration requirements and the ISO 10993 biological evaluation standard on Oct. 23.

AI and Smart Biomanufacturing

The Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation will convene an industry-academic seminar in Gangwon province on Oct. 21 as part of a workforce development initiative for advanced smart manufacturing. Sessions will cover policy and technology trends, factory-level applications, smart manufacturing practices under Korea’s Good Manufacturing Practice system for health supplements, uses of artificial intelligence and government policy for smart food production.

The Small and Medium Venture Business Corp.’s Daegu-Gyeongbuk training institute will also recruit participants for courses running from Oct. 19 through Nov. 4. Prospective attendees should review each program’s location, eligibility rules and target industry before applying.

U.S.-Korea Business Relevance

The calendar includes direct points of interest for companies engaged in U.S.-Korea trade, particularly the Busan seminar addressing FDA requirements and ISO 10993. The FTA origin course may also be relevant to exporters managing tariff eligibility, while the technical-regulations briefing is designed for businesses navigating overseas certification regimes.
