Nam Chang-hee and wife expecting their first child
South Korean entertainer Nam Chang-hee is set to become a father eight months after his marriage. His agency, TNN Entertainment, said Oct. 10 that his wife, Yoon Young-kyung, is currently 23 weeks pregnant, with the baby expected to arrive in February next year.
Nam first shared the pregnancy news with listeners of his radio program, KBS Cool FM’s “Yoon Jung-soo and Nam Chang-hee’s Mr. Radio,” during a broadcast on Oct. 9. His agency later confirmed that the couple is focusing on prenatal care while receiving congratulations from those around them.
A relationship that began after years together
Nam, 44, and Yoon have a nine-year age difference. The couple dated for about four and a half years before holding their wedding ceremony in February, and they are now preparing for the arrival of their first child.
Yoon also shared updates about her pregnancy through social media on Oct. 10. She posted photos of gifts from acquaintances, including rice and sesame oil sent from Mokpo, expressing gratitude for the thoughtful presents. In one image, Nam was seen carrying a heavy bag of rice. She also shared a photo from a visit to chef Lee Yeon-bok’s restaurant.
Both have built careers in Korean entertainment
Nam made his broadcasting debut in 2000 through SBS’ “Happy Saturday” and has since worked across television, drama and radio programs. He is known in South Korea as a familiar entertainment figure with a career spanning multiple formats.
Yoon was named “Sun” at the 2013 National Chunhyang Beauty Contest. She gained attention after appearing on the 2014 MBC variety show “Infinite Challenge” during the “Hong Chul, Get Married” special, where she received the nickname “Han River IU.” She has also appeared as an actress in projects including the film “Ode to My Father” and the drama “Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi.” Yoon previously worked for about six years at Dongdaemun District Office in Seoul and was recently reported to have left the position.
