BTS tops worldwide touring chart
BTS’ “Arirang” world tour ranked No. 1 in cumulative global ticket revenue through the third quarter, the group’s label, BigHit Music, said on the 24th.
Concert industry publication Pollstar compiled ticket sales for tours between Nov. 13 of last year and Aug. 12 of this year. “Arirang,” which began in April, generated about 637 billion won across 38 concerts, drawing 2,314,140 attendees.
The tour’s ticket revenue has already surpassed Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour,” last year’s top-grossing tour, which brought in about 557.4 billion won.
Las Vegas posts the tour’s strongest city sales
Las Vegas recorded the most tickets sold of any city on the tour. BTS performed four shows at Allegiant Stadium in May, attracting 245,691 concertgoers and generating about 91.1 billion won in ticket revenue.
The U.S. results underscore the American market’s importance to the Korean group’s latest global tour. BTS is scheduled to begin the South American leg in Bogotá, Colombia, on the second of next month.
